magazines
i received the latest issue of interview magazine in the mail. it’s my third copy this year and i find it to be an interesting concept. created by warhol himself, featuring interviews of different aspects of pop culture. the only downside is it’s very expensive to import into the united kingdom but it’s a price worth paying for.
nostalgia hits as i think of a time where print magazines trumped the media. i think of old issues of life magazine, keeping the world updated with all the news of the world. now anyone is able to share information in a flash with social media, email or text message. some might find magazines to be redundant, but not me. there’s just something about it.
i feel like everyone goes through the “i want to spend less time on my phone” mantra and perhaps that’s why i find magazines so fascinating. it’s a link to the past, how things were and when life looked to be a little simpler.
i’ll be sad when the day comes where i can no longer purchase a magazine in a shop. but until then, i’ll keep supporting the magazines that interest me.
